Cardinals hold off 49ers...Law could face his old mates...Holliday could be headed to Oakland GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) Fullback Michael Robinson was stuffed at the one-yard line as time ran out and the Arizona Cardinals hung on for a 29-24 win over the upset-minded San Francisco 49ers. The Niners never trailed until Kurt Warner's third touchdown pass of the game, a 5-yard toss to Anquan Boldin with 4:16 remaining. The Cardinals are 6-and-3 and have opened a four-game lead in the NFC West.

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) It looks like former New England Patriots cornerback Ty Law will get a chance to face his old team Thursday night as the five-time Pro Bowl selection has agreed to a one-year deal with the New York Jets. Law had sat out the first 10 weeks of the season as a free agent.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) A federal jury has ordered the NFL Players Association to pay $28.1 million to retired players after finding the union failed to properly market their images. The jury said the NFLPA owed the retirees $7.1 million in actual damages for failing to include them in the lucrative marketing deals with Electronic Arts Inc., the maker of the popular "Madden NFL" video games, sporting card companies and other sponsorship agreements.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) The Colorado Rockies have reached a tentative agreement to trade outfielder Matt Holliday to Oakland.

Two people familiar with the proposed deal say the trade has not been finalized and details are still in the works. It's not clear who the Rockies will get for the two-time All-Star, but one of the sources says reliever Huston Street, left-hander Greg Smith and outfielder Carlos Gonzalez are among the players who had been discussed in recent days.

Washington (AP) Pitcher Scott Olsen and outfielder Josh Willingham look to be headed in a trade to the Washington Nationals. The agent for both players says the players will attend a news conference in the Washington area Tuesday. ESPN.com reports, citing sources, that the Marlins would receive second baseman Emilo Bonifacio (bah-nih-FAH'-see-oh) and two minor leaguers.
