OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The Oklahoma City Thunder have fired coach P.J. Carlesimo (kahr-LIHS'-ih-moh), only 13 games into the team's run in its new city. Carlesimo was let go after a 1-12 start, including a 105-80 loss last night to the New Orleans Hornets. The Thunder moved from Seattle after a 20-win season last year, Carlesimo's first. Assistant coach Scott Brooks will take over on an interim basis.

NEW YORK (AP) The New York Knicks will host the Washington Wizards tonight after losing 104-87 in Milwaukee last night. The Knicks figure to be short-handed after their blockbuster trades that brought Al Harrington from Golden State and Cuttino Mobley and Tim Thomas from the L.A. Clippers, but those players are not expected to be available until Tuesday night's game against Cleveland.

DAVIDSON, N.C. (AP) The nation's leading college Basketball scorer is Davidson's Stephen (STEH'-fihn) Curry, and he was on fire again last night. Three nights after scoring 44 against Oklahoma, the Davidson guard clicked for 30 points and 13 assists in a 97-70 win over Winthrop in a matchup of teams which qualified for the NCAA tournament last season.

NEW YORK (AP) It's still early in the college basketball season and already Duke is celebrating an in-season tournament victory. The 5-and-0 Blue Devils beat Michigan 71-56 to win the 2K Sports Classic at Madison Square Garden.

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) Second-ranked Texas Tech can clinch the Big 12 South championship with a victory over fifth-ranked Oklahoma tonight. The Red Raiders bring a 10-and-0 mark into tonight's game against the 9-and-1 Sooners.
