Bail set for Burress...Texans face Jags...AP Basketball Polls...Kiffin takes over the Vols

NEW YORK (AP) Bail was set at $100,000 for New York Giants' receiver Plaxico Burress. Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Felicia Mennin set bail today and ordered Burress to return March 31.

Prosecutors also released a criminal complaint that provides a witness account from the club where Burress shot himself. If convicted of a weapon possession charge, Burress could face 3 1/2 to 15 years in jail.

HOUSTON (AP) This evening's NFL game will take place in Houston as the Texans entertain Jacksonville. In their first meeting of the season, the Jags beat the Texans in overtime, 30-27.

NEW YORK (AP) North Carolina remains the top team in the new Associated Press top-25 men's basketball poll. The 7-and-0 Tar Heels top Connecticut, Pittsburgh, Duke and Gonzaga in this week's poll. A record eight schools were chosen from the Big East conference.

UNDATED (AP) The weekly Associated Press women's top-25 basketball poll is out and the top team is still Connecticut.

Rounding out the top five positions are North Carolina, California, Stanford and Texas A&M.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Lane Kiffin has been formally introduced as the new head Football coach at Tennessee. The former coach of the NFL Oakland Raiders becomes the school's 21st coach, but only the third in the last 32 years.
