Griz sign 19 football recruits

Missoula, Mont. (AP) University of Montana Football coach Bobby Hauck has announced the signing of 19 new recruits, including nine from Montana.

The in-state signings for the Griz include: wide receiver Travis Andrus of Kalispell Flathead, wide receiver and safety Bryce Carver of Dillon, linebacker Brock Coyle of Bozeman, cornerback Josh Pelczar of Billings West and safety Clay Pierson of Twin Bridges.

Also signing with Montana are: safety Steven Rominger of Missoula Sentinel, linebacker Ty Timmer of Great Falls High, linebacker Jordan Tripp of Missoula Big Sky and defensive tackle Ethan Tweet of Fort Benton.

The Griz also signed five players from Washington state, four from California and one from Arizona. The only quarterback in the recruiting class is D.J. Zapata of San Marcos, Calif.
