Daly passes away...Manuel suspended...Cejka and Ochoa the Golf leaders

DETROIT (AP) The man who coached the Dream Team to the Olympic gold medal in 1992 after winning back-to-back NBA championships with Detroit has died. Chuck Daly was 78. The Pistons announced in March the Hall of Fame coach was being treated for pancreatic cancer.

NEW YORK (AP) Mets bench coach Sandy Alomar Sr. will be the bench boss this afternoon against visiting Pittsburgh. Manager Jerry Manuel has been suspended one game and fined for making contact with an umpire during an argument in a game on Thursday night.

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) Brawn GP's Jenson Button turned in a record qualifying time today in Barcelona and will start from the pole in tomorrow's Formula One's Spanish Grand Prix. It's the third pole of the season for the championship points leader. Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel will start second.
