Associated Press NEW YORK (AP) Lock Haven softball pitcher Kristin Erb and Hardin-Simmons track champion Ashley Huston have won the Division II and Division III athlete of the year awards. The winners of the Honda Sports Awards were announced Thursday. Erb, of Reading, Pa., also received the honor as a freshman. Erb capped her college career by leading the team to its second national championship in four years. She went 50-5 with a 0.47 ERA, and finished with a 168-18 record, the most victories for a Division II pitcher. She will play professional softball with the Philadelphia Force. Huston, of Buffalo Gap, Texas, won the indoor pentathlon and outdoor heptathlon NCAA titles. She also won the NCAA outdoor long jump title. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press.
