Montana State signs two junior college players

BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) Montana State shored up its passing game and its pass defense Friday as MSU head Football coach Rob Ash announced the signing of two junior college players from California.

Defensive back Anthony Cosme joins the MSU program from Fullerton Junior College, where he registered 40 tackles with two interceptions and one pass breakup last season. The 6-foot, 210-pound junior earned all-conference honors. Cosme played high school ball at Lakewood (Calif.) High School.

Receiver Julius Ward finished second on the West Hills Community College team with 22 catches and 337 yards last fall. He registered 209 receiving yards the year before at the school in Coalinga, Calif. The 6-1, 175 lb junior prepped at Inglemoor High in Kenmore, Wash., earning All-Metro honors.
