HELENA, Mont. (AP) Attorney General Steve Bullock has written a letter to the NCAA clarifying that Montana's gambling laws prohibit wagering on the outcome of athletic events. State and university officials have been working to prove that a Montana's legalized betting on fantasy sports leagues does not violate the NCAA's stance against wagering on sporting events.

BUTTE, Mont. (AP) Dickinson State Basketball coach Ty Orton has announced the signing of Rochi Estes of Anaconda. Estes redshirted at Montana Tech for a year and then played the last two seasons at Miles Community College. Estes led MCC in free throw percentage, 3-pointers made and field goal percentage; and earned honorable mention all-conference honors.

Leonard Davis, Marc Colombo and former University of Montana player Cory Procter have signed a recording contract as part of a heavy metal band called Free Reign. Their debut album for Australia's Riot Entertainment will be released this fall.
