Search for Hettinger Couple Continues

(AP) _ A search Saturday by foot and horseback for more human remains near Hettinger came up empty.

Adams County Sheriff Eugene Molbert says nothing was found though a cadaver dog did lead authorities to a slough area. He says they combed it with pitchforks and a metal detector but found nothing.

The remains of one person were found Friday. Authorities have not positively identified them. But Molbert says they might belong to either 73-year-old Norman Olson or his 69-year-old wife, Yvonne.

The couple have been missing since mid-August, when they disappeared from their Hettinger home. Authorities say Norman Olson was in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease but they don't know if that's a factor in the disappearance.

The couple's car was found Wednesday by a hunter in a farm building near Hettinger. The remains were found in an area around the building.

Molbert says authorities still are not sure whether a crime was involved in the couple's disappearance.

The search will is continuing. Molbert says that at this point, authorities are not asking for volunteers. | save this article / add to your favorites list
