With the region preparing to celebrate heritage through another Norsk Hostfest, officials with the Scandinavian Heritage Association were working on preserving some artifacts of that heritage today.

The group buried a time capsule at the base of the Gol Stave Church in the Scandinavian Heritage Park this afternoon.

The capsule includes memorabilia about the Scandinavian Heritage Association, including information on the various nationalities represented in the group.

Today's event was kicked off with a special presentation of the 50 flags of American states, with two visiting students from Norway carrying two of the flags.

The time capsule is scheduled to be opened in 50 years.
