Hostfest Crowds Moving On

The crowds are gone, the halls are silent, the smell of lutefisk has dissipated.

Another Norsk Hostfest has wrapped up.

Thousands attended again this year and some of those folks were headed down the road today traveling in a way that keeps Hostfest thriving.

Perry Olson has more.

(Perry Olson - KX News) Many of the people who walk the halls of the Norsk Hostfest arrive in these...motorhomes bring plenty of festival goers to Minot and those people are now headed out...Getting that caravan back on the road takes some preparation...but not too long...

"How long until you are ready to go? About 15 minutes." (Perry Olson) "The Hostfest thrives because people like this come in these every year and for all the people the Hostfest is one stop of many across the country." (Bernada Boettcher - Canadian Visitor) "We are going now to Nashville and a few other places." (Linda Bromley - Norsk Hostfest) "Sometimes they come the first time on a recommendation then the next year they bring a fan and it turns into a caravan. The RV people do that."

Hostfest is a popular destination for the sights, sounds, and smells that the festival brings...but the site also makes it an easy one for these highway homes to settle into...

(Bernada) "It has great power and water and everything that we need." "We do lots of RVing...through the summer and winter. Nice to get away from our winter. It is starting to get cold here so that is why we are leaving."

On to help the economy of another area like they've done here for the past week. At the State Fairgrounds, Perry Olson, KX News.

Linda Bromley with the Norsk Hostfest says this year was a good year for motor coaches up from last year. watch the video | save this article / add to your favorites list
