They may have to go into debt to pay for health care or forgo medical care altogether. But, what many people don’t realize is that a lack of health insurance can also result in premature death. A new report by Families USA found that between 2000 and 2006, 200 people in North Dakota between the ages of 25 and 64 died prematurely because of a lack of health insurance. Does that seem hard to believe? Think about it. People without health insurance are more likely to receive too little medical care and receive it too late. They can become sicker due to lack of care, and some die sooner as a result. Read on... |
