"We do over three million tests a year....three million in one year!"


The lab at Trinity Health where the techs stay extremely busy researching what is making us sick...and what can make us feel better. Linda Bossert has called a lab like this home for more than 30 years...and she is thrilled with the changes she has seen lately here...

"You were telling me this was like going from what century to what? The 19th to the 21st!"


She says that because of the improvements that have taken place recently...

"We are constantly changing new equipment to bigger and better hooked to computers. Technology is improving all the time."


Like this urinalysis machine. It is new...and is not only allowing technicians to work faster...but achieve more exact results...

"In the old days we used to add chemicals and mix and things took long to do and we sometimes questioned our testing. Now we do all sorts of things that assure us that our answer is correct."


All the improvements here at this vast lab that spans much of the main floor at Trinity have led once again to a distinction that puts it on a level with the best in the country...

"This lab has been accredited by CAP for 30+ years and every two years we are reaccredited. We have people come and review our work and interview people and then the determination is made in the Chicago office."
