Eye on Health - March for BabiesApr 5 2009 11:28PM
KXMCTV Minot Trinity Health hosted a NICU reunion and before that, hundreds walked for those kids who start their lives in the NICU. It was the March of Dimes March for Babies. Perry Olson has more on it in tonight's Eye on Health. (Dr. Thomas Carver) "This is the largest crowd I've seen in Minot for the March." And that equaled good things for the March of Dimes in Minot on Saturday. The annual fundraiser the March for Babies brought in a record amount of money...money that will help the smallest of us... (Cory MacIver - Father of Premie) "It is just great to see all of the friends and family of all the kids come out and support everyone. It is just great." Cory MacIver knows...his daughter started small and he also knows that without the March of Dimes his daughter may not have been here today. "Just knowing that without the March of Dimes they probably weren't going to be able to do all of that stuff. I encourage everyone to get involved even if it just a little at a time or if it is your time. This effects lots of families..." And plenty of families were walking this weekend...in fact...more than ever! (Ashley Gerner) "It has just been a good year of growth and we have had more family teams get involved because of the NICU Reunion and they are great fundraisers." They raised nearly 50 thousand dollars a great kickoff for the walks to come in the state. (Ashley Gerner) "It is our largest fundraiser and our longest running fundraiser. It is our baby you could say! We do 8 through the state and this our first one...it is really exciting and it is a fun event." And making it even more fun...knowing that this walking was saving babies. With your Eye on Health, Perry Olson, KX News. ROLL COMMERCIALS AFTER SPONSOR TAG
