ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) The American League Championship Series is going to New York for a Game 6 Saturday night. Kendry Morales drove in the go-ahead run with a two-out single to cap a three-run rally in the seventh inning and the L.A. Angels cut the Yankees' series lead to 3-2 by rallying for a 7-6 win.

NEW YORK (AP) Embarrassed by a string bad umpiring calls in the playoffs, Major League Baseball is breaking tradition and sticking with only experienced umpires for the World Series. LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) ESPN.com is reporting that Southeastern Conference commissioner Mike Slive says there are questions regarding the eligibility of highly touted Kentucky freshman John Wall. Slive says that there are "amateur issues" surrounding Wall and Mississippi State freshman Renardo Sidney.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) Christian Ponder threw for 395 yards and three touchdowns to help Florida State rally from an 18-point second-half deficit and beat North Carolina 30-27 last night. Rod Owens had nine catches for 199 yards, including a 98-yard score, for the 3-and-4 Seminoles, who ended a three-game losing streak for coach Bobby Bowden.
