Tribal Art Featured at StoreOct 27 2009 7:23PM
KXMCTV Minot But the Turtle Mountain Tribal Arts Association has begun an effort to help tribal members to present their arts and crafts to the public. The group has established an art gallery on Main Street in Dunseith where local Native American artists can display and sell their work. The gallery opened in the summer and has grown to include a wide variety of arts and crafts - from quilts to Sculptures. One of the workers at the gallery says it's a great forum for talented artists. (Frances Allard-Abbot, Gallery Worker) "I love this because it is basically what I wanted to do anyway. My husband and I are both tribal artists and my stuff isn't in here but a lot of others are. I'm happy for this because I've seen these artists struggle to get their stuff out and into the public and away from here." The Turtle Mountain Tribal Arts Association also helps market members' arts and crafts over the internet.
