Six homicide victims in Cleveland house...No deficit plan yet...Gorilla race is record

CLEVELAND (AP) A coroner says the six badly decomposed bodies found in a Cleveland home were all female homicide victims. They haven't been identified. Police started finding the bodies Thursday night when they went to the home of a convicted rapist to arrest him on a new rape charge.

KABUL (AP) It's not clear whether the presidential runoff will be held as scheduled this weekend in Afghanistan, after one of the two candidates dropped out. The decision by former Foreign Minister Abdullah Abdullah effectively hands President Hamid Karzai a second five-year term.

Washington (AP) Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner (GYT'-nur) acknowledges the federal budget deficit is too high, but he says the White House hasn't decided how to reduce the red ink. Geithner tells NBC that for now, the priorities are economic growth and job creation.

LOS ANGELES (AP) A Coast Guard spokesman says "we always hold out some hope," but the search for nine people off the California coast is now considered a recovery mission rather than a rescue effort. There's been no sign of anything but debris since a Coast Guard plane collided with a Marine Corps helicopter on Thursday night.

DENVER (AP) A Halloween charity race in Denver has set a Guinness World Record for the most people in gorilla costumes.

Organizers of the Denver Gorilla Run say 1,061 people ran 3.5 miles dressed as gorillas. The annual race raises money for the Mountain Gorilla Conservation Fund.
