New District Judge SelectedNov 2 2009 7:18PM
KXMCTV Minot Governor Hoeven appointed Cresap today at a press conference at the Ward County Court House. The District where Cresap will be serving along with four other judges includes six counties in Northwest North Dakota. Cresap's position was one of two judgeships that was established by the Legislature. The other was in the southeast district. Governor Hoeven says Cresaps work to this point as an attorney made him the right man for the position. (Governor John Hoeven, (R) North Dakota) "I think he really has demonstrated the character and intelligence, thoughtfulness, the people skills to be an outstanding judge." (Todd Cresap, Appointed Judge NW District) "It's a responsibility that I welcome but you can't ever take for granted." Cresap has been a private attorney in Minot since he graduated from the University of North Dakota's law school in 1986. The new position starts on January 1st, 2010.
