Washington (AP) Despite positive news about the economy from the government, President Barack Obama is cautioning that the jobless rate will keep inching upward for weeks or months to come. Following a meeting with economic advisers, Obama said there is "a long way to go." LOS ANGELES (AP) A California man is headed to prison for 30 months for aiming a laser beam at two airliners as they approached John Wayne Airport in 2008. Authorities say the laser beam struck one pilot in the eye, causing "flash blindness." LOS ANGELES (AP) A California appeals court will listen to oral arguments from director Roman Polanski's attorneys about why it should require a lower court to decide whether to dismiss charges against the fugitive director. He's been in a Swiss jail since Sept. 25. He'd fled the U.S. in 1978 before he could be sentenced for unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl. NEW YORK (AP) There's no quitting for Zoe Koplowitz. The motivational speaker took 28 hours and 45 minutes to finish this year's New York City Marathon.
