STANFORD-HUESTIS CMR post player Huestis chooses Stanford GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) C.M. Russell High post Josh Huestis says he has chosen Stanford over Harvard to continue his Basketball career.

Huestis led the Rustlers to a 21-2 record and the state Class AA championship last winter averaging 15.3 points, 11.2 rebounds and 4.5 blocked shots. He earned all-state honors, was named MVP of the Class AA tournament and the Montana Gatorade Player of the Year.

Huestis can sign with Stanford during the NCAA's early signing period, which runs Nov. 11-18.

CMR coach John Cislo says Huestis has improved during the offseason and is expected to play small forward for the Cardinal.

Former Missoula Big Sky standout Joslyn Tinkle is a freshman on the Stanford women's basketball team.

Information from: Great Falls Tribune, http://www.greatfallstribune.com BIG SKY PLAYERS UM's Reynolds honored by Big Sky HELENA, Mont. (AP) Montana running back Chase Reynolds has been named the Big Sky Conference offensive Football player of the week.

The Drummond junior rushed for a career-high 241 yards and a touchdown in second-ranked Montana's 31-10 victory over No. 14 Weber State on Saturday.

Reynolds rushed 21 times for 193 yards in the second half, helping Montana hold the ball for more than 20 minutes of the 30-minute second half. Reynolds scored on a 2-yard run early in the third quarter to give Montana a 20-3 lead.

Also honored by the Big Sky were Eastern Washington linebacker Matt Johnson and Sacramento State punter Augie Heath.

Johnson, a sophomore from Tumwater, Wash., tied a Big Sky Conference record with four interceptions in the Eagles 47-10 victory over Portland State.

Heath, a sophomore from Chico, Calif., punted five times for an average of 41.6 yards in Sacramento State's 27-24 upset of No. 21 Northern Arizona.

LOWLY LIONS Lions try to regroup after latest disaster ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) Jim Schwartz knows that the Detroit Lions need to find some big plays in what has become a moribund offense.

Schwartz met with reporters Monday after his Lions (1-6) lost 17-10 to St. Louis, ending the Rams' 17-game losing streak.

With star receiver Calvin Johnson sidelined by a knee injury, the Lions managed only one touchdown in two games. On Sunday, rookie Matt Stafford didn't complete a pass to a wide receiver until the fourth quarter.

Schwartz says he isn't sure whether Johnson will be ready for Sunday's visit to Seattle (2-5).

T25-OREGON-BLOUNT No announcement on Blount yet, Oregon coach says EUGENE, Ore. (AP) Oregon coach Chip Kelly says no decision has been made about the possible reinstatement of suspended running back LeGarrette Blount.

Kelly spoke to reporters Monday during his weekly teleconference.

Blount was suspended for punching Boise State defensive end Byron Hout in the aftermath of Oregon's season-opening loss to the Broncos. He was suspended for the season by Kelly the next day, but allowed to continue practicing with the team.

Kelly later announced that Blount could be reinstated if he met certain conditions.

There was speculation Blount could return this week because Kelly had previously targeted Saturday's game against Stanford as his first possible appearance.

TOP PLAYERS Boise State, Idaho players earn honors BOISE, Idaho (AP) Players from Boise State and Idaho are among this week's top players in the Western Athletic Conference.

Conference officials picked Bronco cornerback Kyle Wilson as the top defensive player and Idaho kick return specialist Justin Veltung as the top special teams player.

Wilson is an all-WAC cornerback who is rarely tested by opposing quarterbacks. He picked off his first pass of the season and returned it 27 yards for a touchdown in Boise State's 45-7 rout over San Jose State Saturday. Wilson also had four solo tackles.

Veltung, a freshman, returned the opening kick 94 yards for a touchdown in a 35-34 Vandal victory over Louisiana Tech Saturday.

His only other return was 17 yards, giving him 111 total return yards.
