Construction of the new aquatics center is sailing along... thanks to another big donation.

Bismarck Parks and Rec employees were taken aback by a huge showing of support by BSC employees.

They donated more than 83-thousand dollars toward fitness equipment here.

Officials say they hope to be open in late December, but are still working out issues with biomass heating... fundraising and construction.

Board members say the new aquatics center will add a new dimension to Bismarck.

(Paul Quist/Bismarck Parks and Rec) "I think the key is the amount of space that's available for the teams to set up, the lockerrooms, usually events for swimming are two days at least so the amount of money it will bring into the community is going to be significant as well."


Organizers of the fundraising committee say they hope to reach their goal of one million dollars in the next two months...
