Here is the latest Montana news from The Associated Press...Nov 4 2009 7:42AM
Associated Press DUPUYER, Mont. (AP) A fence is being installed around a school in Dupuyer to keep grizzly bears from wandering onto the playground. Grizzly bears are becoming a problem in the town about 90 miles northwest of Great Falls, as they follow Dupuyer Creek east from the Rocky Mountain Front. The creek runs right near the school. BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) A federal appeals court panel is considering whether a lower court judge erred in dismissing a multimillion-dollar lawsuit filed against Yellowstone County by a former Billings man who spent 15 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit. The judge ruled that the state of Montana, not the county, was responsible for providing him with an adequate defense. Missoula, Mont. (AP) An entomologist for the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation says the forests near Missoula are showing signs of the tree-killing mountain pine beetle. Amy Gannon says many trees on the Mount Jumbo saddle have pitch polka-dotting their trunks a sign that they were trying to flush out the tiny beetles that bore into the tree. MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) Missoula County officials believe a man who robbed a Walgreens pharmacy over the weekend used the prescription drugs to commit suicide. A 47-year-old man who matched the description of the robber was found dead at his home early Sunday of an apparent drug overdose. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
