KXMBTV Bismarck Mike Morken has the details of todays closing testimony. (Mike Morken, KX 4 News) "The last witness called in the trial was a psychiatrist that testified that he doesn't believe that Alfonso Rodriguez Junior have a major mental illness. Doctor Steven Pitt disputed earlier testimony from a defense psychiatrist Marilyn Hutchinson who said Rodriguez had a post traumatic stress disorder. Doctor Pitt did diagnose Rodriguez with paraphelia. Which includes intense sexual arousal from the suffering of humiliation of one's partner or from a child or nonconsensual partner. Defense attorney Richard Ney questioned Pitt's credentials and his 450 dollar and hour fee. He also said Hutchinson based her testimony on tests of Rodriguez. Pitt said she should have not drawn the conclusion of post traumatic stress disorder. Jurors will get the case after closing arguments and instruction tomorrow. Mike Morken, KX4 News." The jury must be unanimous for Rodriguez to receive the death penalty or he will be sentenced to life in prison without parole.
