Flu Shot Clinic PackedNov 4 2009 7:24PM
KXMCTV Minot Doors to the Minot Auditorium opened around 8 o'clock this morning, but crowds began gathering as early as 7. The Health Unit recently received several hundred injectible doses of the flu vaccine, in addition to the doses of flu mist already on-hand. 1st District Executive Officer, Lisa Clute, says today's flu frenzy was mainly due to the higher number of people able to receive the vaccine. Eligibility was expanded to include healthy children up to 5th grade, as well as youth up to age 18 with chronic illness. Clute is thankful for the patience of today's visitors, and says she's happy to see so much interest. (Lisa Clute, 1st District Health Unit) "We expected that we would have a lot of people here today, there was good public information out about the clinic and I know that Minot Public did a call to all the parents to let them know who was eligible, so it's a great turnout and we're just happy to get the vaccine out to people." 1st District Health unit reported just over one-thousand doses of vaccine distributed today before supplies ran out.
