Memorial Held For DSU StudentsNov 5 2009 7:22PM
KXMCTV Minot The Dorothy Stickney Auditorium filled quickly... ...as family members, teammates, friends and complete strangers arrived to pay their respects to Kyrstin Gemar, Ashley Neufeld and Afton Williamson. They died Sunday night after their vehicle became submerged in a stock pond. At today's service...many students arrived wearing this t-shirt. The shirts were made to pay respect to the three girls. In just eight minutes 400 t-shirts were sold. That's just one way people are remembering Kyrstin, Ashley and Afton. The parents of the three young women spoke at today's memorial service. Kyrstin Gemar's father asked that everyone remember the happy times. Afton Williamson's father said he lost a daughter...but that he has a bigger family now... in Dickinson State University... Ashley Neufeld's mother told the softball team that they would have "an angel in the outfield." All three played for the DSU softball team. DSU retired the jerseys of the three young women at today's memorial service.
