North Dakota Soldier Wounded at Fort Hood

A North Dakota man is one of the 31 wounded in yesterday's attack at Fort Hood, Texas.

Sgt. Patrick Blue the Third of Belcourt, part of the 101st Airborne's Second Brigade was shot by the man who killed 13 people when he opened fire at the military's largest base.

Blue's father lives in Belcourt and talked with us by phone this afternoon.

He says his son is doing well and was released from the hospital in Texas today.

Sgt. Blue's father says his son is going through post-combat psychiatric care and saw the shooter, a military psychiatrist, often.

(Patrick Blue II / Father of Shooting Victim) "We talked for a little bit, we talked about the shooter. He's a psychiatrist there who works with the guys when they come back from Iraq. He's seen the guy every day, he never thought something like that would happen.

Sgt. Blue was caught in the crossfire and wounded in his side after walking into the room where the shooting was taking place. watch the video | save this article / add to your favorites list
