Parshall Preview

In a 9 man semifinal Football game on Saturday the Parshall Whiteshield Braves play host to the TGU Titans.

The Braves are coming off a huge win against Wells County last week 14-13 while the Titans are coming off a win against Central McLean 26-20. Braves coach Mark Grueneich feels that his teams defensive play has been the reason that has gotten them this far.

(MARK GRUENEICH)"I guess the main difference from the regular season is that our defense has really stepped up, and really filled some holes. Played really well, tackled well, and thats been the big surprise is that our defense has been able to take some really powerful running games and for the most part contain them. First game we played in the playoffs we had a couple of good running backs we had to stop. This last week we had a really good running back we had to stop and he had a good tailback that was back their with him. We've gotten kind of used to having to have a couple of really good athletes in the backfield because Keller by himself is not back there just alone. Their is a Thorson, Quarterback back their he can run the ball too. So they have some good athletes in the backfield."

(Harrison Zacher)"I think that our defense is going to have to step up just like in our last couple games in the playoffs we haven't allowed many points this playoffs and if we keep that trend going we have a pretty good chance at winning this one too." (Cole Hendrickson)"Were just going to have to have another good team defensive game. We just have to contain the quarterback and the running back, they look pretty good their pretty fast." watch the video | save this article / add to your favorites list
