Two pre-schoolers were inside a car as it was being stolen yesterday morning in Dunseith.

Officials say the 4-year-old boy and 3-year-old girl had been strapped into car seats when their mother returned inside her home to get an infant.

It was then they say a naked, 16-year-old boy jumped into the car and took off.

The children's mother says the teenager stopped the car and dropped the girl out the window, and then pulled over a few blocks away and left the boy alongside the road.

The sheriff says the 16-year-old then drove across the Dunseith High School baseball field and crashed into a fence.

He was arrested and is facing charges in juvenile court.
