FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) Jeff Gordon earned the pole for Sunday's Nascar Sprint Cup race with Kasey Kahne (kayn) on the outside of the front row at Texas Motor Speedway. Jimmie Johnson, who needs only to finish 10th or better in the final three races to win an unprecedented fourth straight drivers' title, will start from the Number-12 hole.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) The Milwaukee Brewers traded underperforming shortstop J.J. Hardy to the Minnesota Twins for speedy outfielder Carlos Gomez. The 27-year-old Hardy batted a career-low .229 with 11 home runs and 47 RBIs in 115 games for the Brewers in 2009 after being an All-Star in 2007.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) Southpaw Cliff Lee will be part of the Philadelphia Phillies in 2010. The NL champions picked up his $9 million option for 2010 after coming over from the Cleveland Indians and going 4-and-0 in five postseason outings.

NEW YORK (AP) The World Series champion New York Yankees got a ticker-tape parade down lower Broadway. New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg presented each team member with a key to the city before cheering fans.
