Mickelson leads Woods...LPGA results from Japan...U.S. trails Fed Cup final...Boise State wins again

SHANGHAI (AP) Phil Mickelson has the 54-hole lead in the HSBC Champions event in China. He had three birdies over the last five holes to shoot a 5-under 67. Tiger Woods failed to make a birdie over the final eight holes and finished with a 70. He's two shots back.

SHIMA, Japan (AP) South Korea's Bo Bae Song birdied the final hole for a 7-under 65 and a one-stroke lead in the LPGA's Mizuno Classic. Song had six birdies in a front-nine 30, then had two birdies and bogey on the final nine holes today and stands 11 under par. Two players are tied for second, with first-round leader Brittany Lang, the lone non-Asian player in the top 12, three shots back.

REGGIO CALABRIA, Italy (AP) Things look bad for the U.S. Fed Cup team. The American squad trails Italy in the final as Alexa Glatch and Melanie Oudin (oo-DAN') both lost in straight sets in today's singles matches. The reverse singles and doubles are scheduled for tomorrow in the best-of-five series.

RUSTON, La. (AP) Boise State, the fifth-ranked team in the AP Football Poll, remains unbeaten after a 45-35 win last night over Louisiana Tech. Quarterback Kellen Moore threw for 354 yards and three TDs.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) In the premiere matchup of the day in college football, third-ranked Alabama can earn a share of the SEC West division with a victory against ninth-ranked LSU. A year ago Alabama beat the Tigers 27-21 in overtime.
