Landmark bill...Nun remembered...Pakistan bombing

Washington (AP) It's the Senate's turn now. The House has narrowly passed landmark health care legislation that hopes to cover tens of millions of uninsured Americans. Shortly after the bill passed, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said his chamber is "energized" to be "closer than ever" to revamping the health care system.

WASHINGTON (AP) President Barack Obama is thanking the House for handing him a victory in his efforts to overhaul the health care system. Obama says he expects the Senate to follow-up with passage and send him the bill before the year is out.

UNDATED (AP) Home for the holidays is getting more expensive.

Fares for travel around Thanksgiving and Christmas have been rising and since airlines have cut back on flights, it's unlikely there will be a repeat of last year's last minute discounting.

GALLUP, N.M. (AP) Sister Marguerite Bartz is being remembered as a woman who showed her compassion daily for God and for people especially the poor. A funeral was held yesterday for the nun who was found killed in her home on the Navajo Indian Reservation in New Mexico. A teenager has been charged in her death.

PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) One witness is describing the aftermath of a suicide bombing in Pakistan as a "hell where the dead and injured were lying everywhere." At least 12 people were killed in the attack, which was apparently targeting an anti-Taliban mayor. The mayor was killed and dozens more were injured.
