Associated Press FOREST LAKE, Minn. (AP) The Minnesota State Patrol says two people are dead after a crash on Interstate 35 in Forest Lake. The crash happened just before 11 a.m. today. Tim Pawlenty's administration is falling short of a goal set almost six years ago to end long-term homelessness in Minnesota by 2010. The Republican governor now says the recession got in the way. State housing officials say 1,500 out of an estimated 4,000 long-term homeless have been housed. ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) They're moving dirt and pouring concrete for the newest memorial on the Minnesota Capitol grounds. Crews anticipate finishing the Memorial Garden for all Minnesota Workers by next summer. Its main feature is a carved native stone wall paying tribute to workers who have lost their lives on the job. ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) The University of Minnesota Extension Service reports that an increasing number of farmers and lenders are using mediation to resolve farm debt issues. The Farmer-Lender Mediation program reports that for the 12 months prior Oct. 1, there was a 55 percent increase in notices filed by lenders for loans eligible for mediation.
