MINNEAPOLIS (AP) Number 25 Minnesota has defeated Minnesota State Moorhead 98-49 in an exhibition Basketball game. Devoe Joseph made five three-pointers and scored 20 points to lead the Gophers, who made 14 of 23 from long range last night. They open the regular season Friday against Tennessee Tech.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) Good news for the Minnesota Vikings.

Coach Brad Childress says injured cornerback Antoine Winfield was able to move around on the field a little during a light practice yesterday. Winfield hurt his right foot on October 18 and missed two games.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) The Minnesota Wild say defenseman Kim Johnsson has been cleared to play after missing seven games because of an unspecified upper body injury. The Wild visit the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight. They may be without right wing Petr Sykora, who has a concussion.
