Woman acknowledges role in Billings cocaine ringNov 13 2009 11:06PM
Associated Press BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) A 26-year-old woman has acknowledged helping a former player for the Billings Outlaws indoor Football team obtain and distribute cocaine from Salt Lake City. Layne Pavey, a former catcher for the MSU-Billings softball team, pleaded guilty Friday to conspiracy to distribute more than 500 grams of cocaine. She is the 10th person charged in a conspiracy in which former player Shon Flores pleaded guilty to bringing almost 20 pounds of cocaine to Billings. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jim Seykora says Pavey was involved in the drug trafficking ring from about September 2008 until July. She, Flores and three others have pleaded guilty within the past two weeks. On Thursday, 32-year-old Chase Raynock, a former Outlaws player, coach and staffer, admitted conspiracy charges. The team has since fired him. Information from: Billings Gazette, http://www.billingsgazette.com (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) APNP 11-13-09 2255CST |
