News Escaped exroyal aide back in custodyNov 25 2009 3:44AM
Associated Press LONDON (AP) Police say a convicted murderer who once served as the personal assistant to the duchess of York is back in custody after she escaped from a low-security British prison. Police say Jane Andrews was located early Wednesday near the minimum security prison in southeast England where she had been held. The facility is 45 miles (70 kilometers) southeast of central London. The 42-year-old former aide disappeared from the prison late Sunday. She was jailed for life in May 2002 after a jury found her guilty of killing her millionaire partner Thomas Cressman. Andrews was a travel companion and accounts manager for nine years for the duchess, Sarah Ferguson, who was formerly married to Prince Andrew. Andrews left the duchess' service three years before the murder. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) APNP 11-25-09 0331CST |
