Arizona's Davis out 46 weeks after knee surgeryNov 25 2009 4:41PM
Associated Press TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) Arizona rookie outside linebacker Will Davis will be sidelined four to six weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee. Coach Ken Whisenhunt says the severity of the injury wasn't discovered until an exam on Monday and the operation was performed on Tuesday. Davis, a sixth-round draft pick out of Illinois, had shown steady improvement in recent weeks. He had two sacks in the last three games, one against Chicago and one last week against St. Louis. Starting outside linebacker Chike Okeafor, out the last two games with a back injury, practiced Wednesday and could return for Sunday's game at Tennessee. The Cardinals re-signed Monty Beisel on Tuesday to shore up the depth at the position. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) APNP 11-25-09 1633CST |
