UNDATED (AP) The NFL announced that Miami Dolphins kicker Dan Carpenter has been named the AFC special teams player of the week for games played Dec. 3, 6-7. Carpenter accounted for 10 points, including a 41-yard field goal with 1:02 remaining, in Miami's 22-21 victory over the New England Patriots last Sunday. It was Carpenter's third game-winning kick of his career and second of the 2009 season. Carpenter, a former University of Montana kicker and Helena, Mont., native, has converted 19 of 20 of his field goal attempts this season, including eight that were 40 yards or longer. His career long of 52 yards came against the Patriots on Nov. 8. Carpenter is tied with Minnesota's Ryan Longwell for the NFL lead in field goal accuracy at 95 percent. This is Carpenter's second special teams honor. He won for his Week 14 efforts against the Buffalo Bills in Toronto during the 2008 season. UGF WRESTLING University of Great Falls wrestling ranked 4th in NAIA GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) The University of Great Falls wrestling team is ranked fourth in the NAIA national poll. The Argos moved up two spots from sixth after defeating then fourth-ranked Southern Oregon last Friday. Montana State-Northern is ranked 15th. Notre Dame of Ohio is ranked first. In individual rankings, Michael French of Great Falls and Evan Hinebaugh of MSU-Northern are ranked first and second in the 184-pound weight class.
