Jackson, Hazell lead Seton Hall past VMI 134-107 Eds: APNewsNow. Seton Hall 134, VMI 107.

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) Jamel Jackson scored 40 points and Jeremy Hazell added 33 to lead Seton Hall to a 134-107 win over the Virginia Military Institute on Saturday.

The 134 points set a new school record for the undefeated Pirates (8-0), whose previous best was 120 set on Jan. 26, 1962 against the University of Scranton.

Jackson, who went 12 of 15 from 3-point range, set a new school record for 3s made. He made his first seven from long range and his only miss came on a desperation heave from midcourt as the shot clock expired.

Jackson, who had only 49 points in seven previous games this season, shot 14 of 17 from the floor. Hazell had 12 rebounds to go along with his 33 points.

Herb Pope reached double figures in points and rebounds for the fifth straight game with 15 points and 20 rebounds.

Austin Kenon had 24 points and Michael Sparks had 19 to lead VMI (4-5).
