KXMCTV Minot A federal jury foUND the sex offender guilty in the kidnapping and murder of UND student Dru Sjodin earlier this month. He was sentenced to die for the crime last week. The federal clerk's office in Fargo says the defense costs totaled just over $900,000 from the time Rodriguez was indicted through last Thursday. That pricetag includes over $700,000 in lawyer fees. Defense attorney Richard Ney says his firm actually lost money on the case. U.S. Attorney Drew Wrigley says the government spent about $25,000 for expert witnesses in prosecuting Rodriguez.
