Here is the latest South Dakota news from The Associated Press...Dec 24 2009 4:06PM
Associated Press SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) Weather experts say it's been years since South Dakota has had a winter storm like the one forecast on Christmas. Up to 20 inches of snow and winds gusting to 45 miles per hour could create what one forecaster calls a historic storm. SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) The winter storm could bring an end to this year's Corn harvest in South Dakota. The latest report from the Agricultural Statistics Service showed 12 percent of the corn hadn't been harvested as of Monday. Washington (AP) Sen. Tim Johnson says the health care bill the Senate passed today is a step toward reforming a broken health care system. He says negotiating a compromise between House and Senate versions of health care reform will be difficult but whatever emerges will be an improvement over the current system. PIERRE, S.D. (AP) Deer hunters in South Dakota will soon get another chance to bag a deer. The firearms season reopens Saturday and continues through Jan. 3. Both West River and East River seasons are for antlerless deer only. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) APNP 12-24-09 1555CST |
