Officers struggle to find meaning in Sjodin caseOct 14 2006 10:30AM
Associated Press Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension agent Dan Ahlquist says the end result is a man going to the death chamber, and a family that doesn't have a daughter. A federal jury in Fargo last month convicted Alfonso Rodriguez Junior of Crookston, Minnesota in the 2003 kidnapping and death of Sjodin, a 22-year-old University of North Dakota student from Pequot Lakes, Minnesota. Rodriguez was sentenced to death. Grand Forks Police Lieutenant Jim Remer says there are still many missing details and lingering questions about what took place during the three hours when Rodriguez kidnapped Sjodin. He says it would be interesting to know everything ... but it probably doesn't make a difference. (Copyright 2006 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) APNP 10-14-06 1025CDT |
