Bismarck, N.D. (AP) Conjoined twins Abygail and Madysen Fitterer of Bismarck could wait until January for separation surgery.

Parents Stacy and Suzy Fitterer say on their Caring-Bridge Web site that the delay is because of the holidays.

Abygail and Madysen were born in August, joined at the abdomen.

The twins are at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
