Associated Press ROCHESTER, Minn. (AP) The Mayo Clinic says the vital signs of separated twins Abygail and Madysen Fitterer of Bismarck continue to improve two days after their surgery. The twins remain in critical condition at Mayo Eugenio Litta Children's Hospital, as expected. They are ventilated and sedated. The girls were born joined at the chest and shared their front chest wall. Their livers also were joined and they shared some intestine. They underwent successful separation surgery on Wednesday. The girls are the daughters of Stacy and Suzy Fitterer. (Copyright 2007 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) APNP 01-05-07 1705CST |
