KXMBTV Bismarck Michelle Walker is the cessation coordinator for the state Health Department's tobacco prevention and control program. She says more than 250 people call the Quitline every month, looking for information on how to kick the tobacco habit Walker says about one-third of the people who quit are still tobacco-free after one year. She says anytime the so-called "quit rate" is above 20 percent, it's considered a success.
