North Dakota woman says she's owed $350,000 for overtime...Jan 19 2008 3:32PM
Associated Press Bismarck, N.D. (AP) A North Dakota who worked as a dispatcher for an oil field equipment and transportation company says she's owed money for more than 6,000 hours of overtime. Noreda Mann, of Marmarth, is asking for more than $350,000 in a federal lawsuit against Hamm and Phillips Service Company, an Oklahoma-based business that also serves South Dakota and other states. Her lawsuit accuses the company of refusing to pay her for more than 6,200 hours of overtime in a 19-month period between February 2006 and September 2007. That's an average of 123 working hours per seven-day week and 17-and-a-half working hours per day. A spokeswoman for Hamm and Phillips says she couldn't comment on the details but says the company is confident the case will be dismissed.
