Northwood farmer wants to head to Tennessee to help tornado...Feb 8 2008 8:31AM
Associated Press NORTHWOOD, N.D. (AP) A farmer and volunteer firefighter from Northwood knows first hand about tornado devastation. And he wants to help victims in Tennessee. Twenty-two-year-old Brandon Wall is organizing a trip to Lafayette, Tennessee next week. Officials say 59 people have died in the nation's deadliest tornado rampage that hit parts of Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi, Alabama and ArKansas. Wall says watching the news pictures of the tornado brought back memories of the tornado that swept through Northwood last year. One man was killed, 18 others were injured and most homes were damaged in the Grand Forks County town. Wall says he was impressed with the response from others. He says he'd like to head to Tennessee late next week and return the following Monday, and hopes to borrow a skid-steer loader and a pickup for the trip. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press.
