New owner of old mansion wants to sell itSep 20 2008 11:54AM
Associated Press Brodie, now of Lemmon, says he has no regrets at not being able to hold on to the mansion much longer and that now is the time to sell. He says he has been diagnosed with a brain tumor that will require surgery. The mansion was built in the 1930s near Pierre's Capitol Lake. It was vacated in 2003 and replaced with a $3 million, 73-room mansion on the same location. It was moved to Rapid Valley in 2006. Brodie says he has put $3 million into the structure. Brodie, who originally came to the United States from Jamaica, has retired from practicing dentistry in Rapid City. He says he hopes a South Dakotan who would share his appreciation of its historical importance will be able to buy it.
