SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) Sioux Falls ethanol producer Poet LLC has received a safety award from BNSF Railway.

The annual product stewardship award is given to shippers who transport a minimum of 500 loaded tank cars of hazardous materials during the previous year with zero non-accident releases.

Poet's biorefineries in Chancellor, Mitchell, Big Stone City, Groton, Scotland, Hudson, and Coon Rapids and Corning in Iowa, were recognized in the award.

The company received a similar award from Union Pacific earlier this year.
