It's often considered the center of many small communities, and one group is preparing to celebrate their church's long history.

Church members of the Sacred Heart Catholic church in Glen Ullin are preparing for their church's 125th anniversary later this month.

While this actual building has been here since the early '80s, the parish itself was founded 125 years ago, and has been serving the community ever since.

Sacred Heart members say they hope old clergy members and past and present worshipers come back for fellowship and fun, and to celebrate their church's history.

"I think it draws us together and gives us an identity that we're all proud of as members of our parish." says Kathy Schirado/Church member

"It's the church that is the center of a town like Glen Ullin..

Family living, schools, marriage, anything of that kind, it's always centered toward church." says Father Joseph.
