UM ATTENDance NCAA ranks UM 30th for attendance BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) The NCAA says the University of Montana women's Basketball team ranks 30th nationally in attendance at its home games.

The Lady Griz averaged 3,826 fans per home game. The team has ranked in the top 30 in 23 of the 25 years the NCAA has kept attendance records.

Tennessee leads the NCAA rankings, with 13,999 fans per game.

DRISCOLL HONOR MSU's Driscoll honored BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) Montana State University senior Elisabeth Driscoll has been named to an academic all-America first team that college sports information directors select for ESPN the Magazine.

Driscoll is a student of engineering and German, and has been on the MSU outdoor track and field team.

She's been a three-time Big Sky Conference all-conference selection in cross country, and a two-time all-conference selection in track and field. Driscoll is the conference champion in the 10-kilometer run.

KUMLIEN HONOR Javelin athlete from Montana wins honor BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) A Bozeman High School graduate who studied at the U.S. Military Academy is the recipient of All-District honors through ESPN The Magazine.

College sports information directors chose Kevin Kumlien for the distinction recognizing academic and athletic performance.

Kumlien was a javelin standout for the academy at West Point, N.Y. He battled through an injury to place fourth with a throw of 199 feet, 9 inches in the 2009 Patriot League Championships held at West Point. Kumlien was the 2008 Army-Navy javelin champion.

He graduated from the military academy in May and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Army. He's been chosen to return to West Point as an intern for track and cross country during the fall semester.

CAMPS UGF plans sports camps GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) The women's basketball program at the University of Great Falls plans a camp for girls in elementary school through high school.

Basketball fundamentals, team concepts and individual drills will be part of the camp set for Monday through Wednesday.

The university also plans a Volleyball camp for girls. The session for elementary and middle school players takes place Aug.

3-5. A high school camp is scheduled for Aug. 6-8.
